Anyone had experience with ectopic pregnancy / methotrexate and pain?

I am currently going through my second ectopic pregnancy, which I had surgery for but due to the location, unfortunately leftover tissue remained so I had to have methotrexate.

I have no idea whether it worked yet but yesterday I had terrible shoulder tip pain which made it hurt to breathe so I had to go a&e and they saw that my pelvis and abdomen was completely clear of any free fluid which means it has absorbed and resolving itself so it is definitely not caused by internal bleeding.

I am still in pain around my side which is bothersome but I don't want to take codeine or morphine to mask the pain as their might be something genuinely wrong. I feel so bad for bothering the hospital :( what could've caused the horrible shoulder tip pain? It's gone now, just very subtle... I bet it'll be back with a vengeance tonight!

I'm just wondering has anyone had experience of this and did it work for you? I won't know until end of this week whether my hcg has gone down so I'm not even out of the woods yet.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

The pain could be caused by the gas they use during surgery? I’m not sure of the procedure though. Did you get any info from the hospital? I had an ectopic that was managed with methotrexate but the only pain I remember was more like period pain.

But if in doubt please phone the ward or 111.

@OrangeJustice thank you Thanks
Surgery was a month ago now I doubt that. I think all I can do is just keep an eye on things and hope my hcg levels begin to fall... rapidly! Thanks again. I'm sorry you had to go through it too Sad
