how long is it ok for a 3 week old to be in a bouncy chair?

hv suggested keeping ds2 upright after feeds for half an hour or so, as he's been bringing up quite impressive amounts of half-digested milk after feeds

so i usually hold him, but if i have to get things done have started plonking him in a bouncy chair (most reclined setting)

he's been in there for the last hour or so while i bathed and settled ds1 and he seems really content - rarely settles like this in the moses basket

so - the temptation is to leave him, but i'm not sure they're suitable for newborns - anyone?

My ds had reflux Tutter and he spent most of his first few months in his rocker.

In fact when he got Broncilitis he even slept in it on a night.

erm, once we realised that our vibrating bouncy thing cured DS's colic (at about 10 weeks cos it was xmas) he was in it pretty much permanently (and I do mean permanently), but it was one of those fisher price linkadoo ones which didn't have a rigid back so moulded to him a bit more. We had one of the rigid backed ones from mamas and papas which he has always hated and I wouldn't have left him in that for long because it looked uncomfy.

I think if it's the soft cloth chair , then probably a couple of hours would be ok.

The problem with the rigid bouncers is the increased risk of flathead, so prob, less than an hour..

the struture is fairly rigid, but cushioned, plus a newborn head insert makes it fairly comfy-looking

am leaving him there - dh out so it may be the only chnace i have of making dinner uninterrupted
