Help....I have what feels like the worse piles ever. I’ve tried over the counter stuff, although only use once a day at bedtime. I’m 32 weeks pregnant with twins, feels heavy, bowel habits vary but the constant nagging in my neither regions is getting beyond a joke. Any tried and tested remedies? Anything that works to shrink and relieve?

Feel for you. There is nothing worse. Witch hazel on a sanitary pad, chuck it in the fridge then apply to help relieve the discomfort. Worked when I was expecting dd. Don't strain if you can help it. Loads of liquids and fibre to keep everything moving.

Speak to your pharmacist they maybe able to offer some useful alternatives that you can use regularly, of all else fails ask your GP.

Don't muck about - go to pharmacist and, if they suggest it, GP. You're likely to get an even more sluggish bowel as the weeks go on, and it'll just make you miserable.

You can buy suppositories with hydrocortisone in them. Absolute magic.

Piles are incredlyby painful and under treated.

I was in hospital for mine at 28 weeks as it ended up being a blood clot and it had to be cut and squeezed 😣🙈

Any way last Sunday it came back with vengeance and even my prescribed cream wouldn't work I wanted to try and avoid hospital again so here's what worked for me:

Ice! Either an ice pack made yourself with ice cubes it or you can buy ones for piles from Amazon. I was putting ice on them 3x a day.
Also 100% aloe Vera gel! I can't believe how well that stuff works and it helped the pin almost instantly I started applying it direct to the piles every time I went toilet. Low and behold a week later and the pain and swelling has gone down dramatically !!
I also bought some Epsom salts as I read soaking in a bath of them can help reduce the swelling x

Thanks for the advice guys, it’s a challenge to get in at the GP’s but I’m at the hospital this week for scan so will see what I can muster up in terms of some heavy duty treatment. Will def try the suggestions too 🤞😳

I tried everything and suffered for a long time. Eventually went to see the GP who gave me Timodene (contains antimicrobials and a mild steroid) and it cleared up! I do, however, now make sure I eat bran for breakfast every other day. Not suffered since!

Garlic boiled mashed and cooled is very soothing

A glass of prune juice every day should keep you regular.

I used a herbal balsam which worked like a dream, but my case was nothing like as severe as yours. It's awful though, sorry you're going through this.
