I'm 21 years old not pregnant, try searching the internet about eye floater positive stories and mumsnet appears. I have eye floater from March 2019, only in the right eye, and really annoying, I feel my life has no meaning. Already check to optician and he said its only floater dont need to worry. Don't know if my reaction is too severe or anything. But really felt very desperate, i search on google they said in only apppear on older people but im just 21??!! Really make me sad and sad :( I see a black line, maybe there are 2-3 long lines, and some spots always move every time I move my eyes. Very depressed. Sometimes feeling life has no meaning because every day I cry and despair. I dont know people who has them and feel im alone in this, in my family only me who has this eye floater. Please for anyone who has an eye floater and is used to them and is not bothered at all please tell me your story, please comment to give me hope that I can too. The stories from you will definitely help me a lot, please share your stories, IT WILL HELP ME A LOT!! And please no negative stories, only positive ones !! Thankyouu .

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I'm short sighted and I've always had floaters. They're more noticeable when I look at a light background but to be honest they don't bother me and most of the time I don't notice them. Maybe mine aren't as visible as yours and I know it's easier said than done but try not to focus on them, look through them and try to forget about them.

I don't get this at all. I have had them all my life as far as I know. I have clear memories of watching them while sitting in class in infant school. I have them all over both eyes.

They don't bother me at all! I barely think about them.

I've had them all my life, both eyes.....thought it was totally normal......isn't it!?!?
I like them. It's my secret inner eye-pond life Smile

I have had floaters since my thirties ( about 10 years) I notice them in particular lights, very bright sun and a certain type of artificial light ( some shops and ironically my optician) but mostly I don't notice them even though they are there. They vary from day to day I think. I would maybe go and talk to someone about how you are feeling Flowers

I had them in both eyes for many years. I have really just got used to them. If I think about them I can see them but majority of the time I don't notice them at all. Your eyes will adjust to them. And if you can try to put them to the back of your mind you will also notice them less (I know it's hard though - I can see mine now I'm thinking about them! )

Im shortsighted as well -2,5 both eyes. Since when you started having them? How are your floater? Actually mine also only noticeable when im outside under sunlight, looking at white wall and computer screen, and reading. And they are black but transparent. But dont know why its impact my life so much, maybe i was too focus on them? When i see them i can start crying immediately at that moment, crazy right? Sad i
kept thinking oh its bad they never go away and i will see them for the rest of my life. i always remember before when i dont have them and can see cleary , and that make me even sad.

feren you are over reacting and do sound very anxious.
I have lots of them. When they first appear you are very conscious of them but after a while the brain filters them out.
I only notice mine now when I look at a large expanse of white.

My optician said it helps if you roll your eyes and then wait until the floaters settle. He himself has a large floater in one eye and entertains himself boring meetings by sort of following the floater round the room Grin.

Yours will probably get better on its own eventually. Don't let something so unimportant rule your life Flowers

During boring meetings, that should be! Oops.

I've had them as long as I can remember, in fact, I have one right now, like a curved piece of string almost, as well as a few spots. I didn't even notice them until I read your OP, so little do they bother me!

None of the opticians I have seen have ever told me it's a problem and Google tells me they are extremely rarely linked to anything bad.

Honestly, OP, your reaction is more than a little OTT, don't let it get out of hand. Do you have anxiety about anything else? A chat with your GP may be in order, if so. I hope the answers to this will help ease your mind a little Thanks

I've had them for a few years now, they really bothered me when they first appeared but don't any more. I still notice them when I'm in bright rooms but feel as though my brain has filtered them out to some extent most of the time. Now I'm thinking about them I can see them as I type though!
I hope you're feeling a bit better about your eye floaters soon.

Dh developed them recently. Apparently many in their 50's do.
You do sound very over-anxious.

I remember going to see my optician about my floaters. I’d seen flashing lights too and wanted to check it wasn’t a detached retina. Anyway when I said I had a couple of floaters, she said she had forty! It absolutely put it into perspective for me. I still notice mine sometimes but I think your brain learns to ignore them over time.

maybe its new to me so it annoy me so much, only 4 months for me. How is your floater look like? Lines? Dots? Do you see them under sunlight? You dont get annoyed by them?

(EggWrap)
Yes, my doctor said there is nothing to worry. But dont know why im so anxios about them, everytime i notice them i feel sad immediately , is there anything wrong with me? :( i really want to enjoy life again, actually im a cheerfull person, but since floater came, i became so gloomy
everyday.

(Birdsdestiny)
So you don’t get annoyed by them anymore? Have you learn to ignore them? Actually I have talked to my friend, my family how I feel , but they just don’t understand what im talking about, whenever I explain about floaters, they were confused and had no idea. I don't have an acquaintance who has a floater, so I feeling like im alone.

(Ribbibie)

I also hope I can ignore them! How long it take for you to ignore them? Under sunlight they are really prominent and I don’t understand how can I ignore them cause everytime I move my eyes they also move and really annoy me so much.

(Missingthesea)
I really hope i can play with my floater too. Do you also have floater? Have you get used to them now?

(Woombleish)
Yes, i know they are not dangerous. But i always feel sad, thinking about not being able to see clean again forever makes me really sad. No, i dont have anxiety about anything else. I only get anxious about my floater, i also always worrying what if they get worse, everyday i worry and fear. Before floater came, i really was a person who was very relax and not easily worried. But now i know you guys can ignore the floaters, i became sure i could too.

I've had them since I was a teenager. Had a special eye check to rule out any problems. You get used to them after a while. Barely notice now unless its really sunny.

I have one in my left eye. The more you think about it the more you notice it. Optician said can take a few years to go away. Daughter also has one. Just a bit of a nuisance really.
