Side effects of sertraline

So I started 50mg per day about six weeks ago.

I appear to have accidentally become teetotal - either I was so stressed out I was self medicating or the side effect is not wanting wine?
Also, my eyesight feels more blurry or just 'weird' generally although I can see.
Nothing else - was dreading some of it after reading the leaflet.

You are not really supposed to drink alcohol with sertraline anyway. I’ve been taking them since Jan and still sometimes get blurry vision still. I get night sweats too and occasional headaches but they have helped enormously. Good luck

It makes me grind my teeth / clench my jaw very tightly, but on the plus side, I don’t want to kill myself any more Grin

I’m not really bothered about drinking either since I started on it 18 months ago. I’m just not interested and it no longer appeals.

I found myself really spaced out on them at first. I didn’t like it at all, it felt like I was on (recreational) drugs.
It did settle down though over time

The sertraline made dd’s eyes go very blurry and ‘funny’ .... she had to stop taking it as she couldn’t see the board at school ... eyes were fine once she stopped.

That's really interesting on the eyesight. I thought I was imagining it.

My GP didn't ban alcohol completely but it's interesting that I've lost interest. Glad most of you have felt positive on it.
