I did start another thread re my DH and pseudomonas infection. He is desperate to come home from hospital and feels generally well but his CRP is creeping up and they say he will need IV antibiotics x 3 a day for six weeks and review in the clinic every week. District Nurses will do two and they have asked me to do the middle one of the day and I'm terrified!
Anybody done this. They say they'll train me and wont let us go before I've the confidence and skill.
Just asking if anybody else has done this and how they coped. I'd so love for him to come home but I'm scared!

He’ll have a cannula with a port in his vein. They won’t expect you to put a needle into him. It’s very simple really. You just undo the cap on the port, attach the syringe (without a needle) and slowly depress the plunger. I’m sure you’ll be fine once you’ve had some practice under supervision.

You'll be fine, OP. They'll show you how it's done and you can practice. After the first couple of times it'll be easy and straightforward. You and DH will really appreciate him being home ! Good luck !
