Back spasms- can anyone help?

On friday my back went into spasms but it sorted itself right away.I went away for the weekend and on way home it went again this time it hasnt sorted.I am in agony I have been to the docs and I have enough painkillers to knock out a horse.Does anyone know of a way to sort this out quickly it is only 11 days till my holidays I will be devastated if we have to cancel.

If you can possibly afford it, get an emergency appointment at a physio. You don't need to be refered by the GP.

Hot and cold treatment may help. Alternate between draping a hot water bottle or wheat bag over the sore muscles for 10 mins with then draping an ice-pack (well wrapped in a towel) over the same place for 10 mins. Repeat 3 or 4 times.
