DH is ALWAYS feeling ill/ virusy

DH has a virus what seems like most weeks. They seem to be full on mega viruses where he is bed ridden for a couple of days.

He will get a virus at least once per month, and some months he has one after the other, after the other.

It's becoming quite frustrating for us both... He spends a few days per month in bed with these viruses and has taken a fair amount of sick days from work.

He has a pretty terrible diet and my only conclusion is that his immune system is weak perhaps due to lack of nutrition.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Would a GP be interested in hearing about this? I wonder if he could take a suppliment of vitamins. Or perhaps the GP could run blood tests to find out what he is deficient in (if anything!)

I should note that he has never been diagnosed with any medical condition. So would otherwise be considered 'healthy'.

Yes blood tests. He may have a vitamin deficiency or something which needs investigating.

A shit diet and no exercise is a vicious cycle - the worse you feel, the less energy and motivation you have to make changes. So the change has to come before you feel you can.

Super doses of vitamin C (research it) are good - plus make sure he’s getting loads of all the others particularly zinc and b vits.

Ps if you exercise regularly it’s proven you are fifty percent less likely to catch illnesses and if you do, you shrug them off more easily.

What are the symptoms of the viruses? Is he definitely physically unwell and not depressed?

Pps also could depression be in the mix? Does he hate his job? That shit suppresses the immune system hugely.

My husband is like this. I find it really tough as he's also away two weekends a month for work (as well as work mon-fri). Hes usually burnt out by the time he has a weekend off and spends he whole time asleep.

I find it emotionally tough and also frustrating. He's currently in bed now and has had a week off.

My son has just been diagnosed with coeliac disease and the paediatrician strongly suggests my husband peruse a diagnosis for himself. This would explain a lot

Gosh I'm glad to hear that a few of you also have this issue.

Ok I will make him an appointment now. He does have a gym membership, but doesn't go. So will be getting on a health kick from now on.
