We’re thinking about merging this section, what do you think?

Hi all,
We’re doing some work on making the Talk boards more useful and user-friendly for both regular and new users. After looking at some stats for the site, we think we could boost activity on the whole by merging some of the lesser used sections.

We’re proposing to fold the topics in this section into the General health area.

This should increase the number of topics in the section - and hopefully lead to more posts and responses to members.

This too if, and the Ebola topics came about when the diseases were headline news, and for both MNHQ moved threads to the topic, to avoid swamping other topics and also to make it easier to find threads (some of which had extremely well-informed comments). It also meant that threads were longer and more interesting, because there wasn't a new one started daily.

Given that there seems to be an infectious disease crisis every couple of years, then I think having an Infectious Disease (or epidemic) topic is a good idea. Especially if MNHQ follows its own precedent and moves threads, as it did so successfully before

It was a really interesting topic, but I'd be content to see it go and when the next new disease emerges we could then have a new sub topic? But also, I do like the idea of a general emerging epidemic topic!
