Tonsil stones

Dd has developed these.

A few months ago she moaned about funny white blobs in her mouth, don't think I even looked but told her maybe she had thrush and gave her a tablet. She said they went.

A few days ago she complained of a weird raw pain on one side of her mouth. Chemist gave her some mouthwash stuff. Next day she felt poorly and lymph nodes that side were up, throat felt awful. I flapped slightly as a levels start next week and she has an autoimmune disorder so raced her to the dr.

Dr couldn't see anything amiss in her throat but commented that she had big crypts in her tonsils and that she was lucky she doesn't get stones. Dd Google's when she gets home and declares what she had previously was tonsil stones, not thrush.

Today she has woken up with tonsil stones. She says she csnt bear to poke them out. Will they go on their own again? Will she keep getting them? Do they only come when you're ill?

Not just when ill. If she has pitted tonsils it will probably happen a lot. They make your breath stink.
Buy some decent mouthwash for her to gargle with.

Are you sure it isn’t tonsilitis? For them to appear suddenly and be visible - I wouldn’t be so sure they are stones.

Well she says she coughed one up today, I didn't see it.

Hmm, but I get your point that it's odd the dr said they were empty yesterday and now this morning they're not. She's coughing like mad and feels like shit. First a level on Tuesday!

And she doesn't have bad breath.

Thanks, I'm going to insist on having a look tomorrow and if I reckon it's stones I will get her some Listerine.

Recently poked a few out with a cotton bud, then on the last one I had to have a break but when I went back to fish it out it had disappeared into my tonsil-cave Sad she'd know if it was tonsillitis- there's a big difference in pain!
