Is toe nail fungal infected? (Apologies for photo)

I was told by a pharmacist that it was so for the last 3 months I've been treating with an antifungal solution from Boots. But the appearance is getting worse not better!

If it's a factor I do run quite a lot (20-25miles a week on average)

Any chiropodists out there who can advise?

Thanks

Sorry to hijack, but I have worse than that. Yellow nail for a while and then the skin around the nail got swollen, then some blood around the sides. The swelling's going down, but the blood and yellow nail staying the same. I'm also treating with one of those antifungal pens, but not sure if it's doing much.
I'll spare you the photo.

I'm definitely not a pharmacist but I've had two separate toenail infections and mine were both much darker. I used the boots nail pen fungal applicator and then waited for the nail to grow out. It took about 6 months. After 3 months I saw an improvement.

By the way, my nails and hair grow ridiculously fast. I've no idea why but they do. Going by my experience that's something other than a fungal infection

Where would people recommend I go for a proper diagnosis? Chiropodist, nurse practitioner?

I'd probably go to a chiropodist, they'll have experience of feet/nail problems

Is there direct access to chiropodists?
