Hi guys, will keep this brief.
Pain woke me a 2 this morn, has been constant, no better or worse. Nothing eases it.
Heavy , tight pressure in upper chest and throat. Some shoulder and arm pain too.
Slightly breathless
Palpitations
No temp or nausea, eating drinking normally.
VERY stressfull time at the mo, my dad is in hospital at end of life and at the hospital every day.
I dont want to go to A and E and 111 is useless. Surely if this was my heart id be dead by now??? Could it just be anxiety? I have read it coukd also be GERD which i do have and take meds for( lanzoprazole) but im not bringing up and any acid or getting the normal burning feeling.
Any ideas guys? Many, many thanks.

It probably is stress or GERD but not being dead doesn't mean it's not your heart. 111 is useless, just get yourself to A&E or call an ambulance. You need an ecg and a blood test.

I suffer from costochondritis, which is inflammation of the rib lining and incredibly painful when it flares up.

Even though I know what it is, my GP always sends me into A & E for bloods and an ECG. Never been in there for more than a few hours.... they do the ECG straight away and the bloods, then you just wait for the results.

You don't mess with chest pain, even if it's stress/anxiety. Go and get seen Flowers

Why are you posting here for medical advice? Please, just go and get yourself checked out. I know it's scary, but your life may depend on it.

Hi thanks for all replies :) bit the bullett and went to walk- in. Had all relevent tests, its down to oesophageal spasms part of my on going chronic illness ( scleroderma) doc was lovely and said when they are this bad they are often mistaken for heart attacks. Also said it was down to the stress i was under. Gave me some diazapam as its anti spasm and it knocked me clean out for 12 hours ! Still there today but just a dull ache. Thanks for everyone who took time to reply :)

Glad you went OP. Chest pain is really horrid, and you automatically assume the worst.

I hope life gets easier for you soon Flowers
