No one can tell you if it's the right decision for you.

I had the same procedure in my late 30s I was heart broken and closing the door on my fertility but I accepted it was the right decision for me and my family.

Have you been prescribed Norethisterone? It stops your periods & thins the lining of your womb, you can take it continuously, if at any time you want to conceive you would have to come off it. I had heavy periods due to endometriosis & had been managing them on the combined pill but due to my age had to stop & took Norethisterone for two years until I had a hysterectomy, it's the same hormone that is in the Mirena coil but in a higher dose.

Hi nat 6999 i was prescribed something they said u can take it to stop periods when on holiday cant remember what it was but it didnt stop the bleeding and due to my body reacting badly to the pill hormones in any form they said i couldn't have anything other then the coil as the hormone is a very low dose with the merena i was on the pill at 16 and it caused me to start getting fibradanomas of the breast which is basically fatty breast tissue to the point i had to have 1 removed as it got to the size of a plum so i do think this is my only option thankyou for your reply though x
