Yes I had it 5 years ago! Was really horrible and I ended up in hospital on a drip. It took me about 8 weeks to feel better but left me with chronic fatigue syndrome Sad hope you feel better soon SmileThanks

Had been feeling unwell since end of Jan beginning of Feb, tired mostly and no appetite. Eventually doc ran bloods and came back 21march positive with glandular fever he just said I would be unwell for a while? The tiredness has eased but still have no appetite/dont feel hungry and very achy all over? Is this normal? Really just dont feel myself and its affecting me mentally now😩

For me it definitely lasted quite a long time. I was extremely tired for months after I had ‘recovered’. It did get better, I would say I think fully recovered by 6 months. If you’re not already I would make sure you are taking plenty of vitamins including iron and b12 if you still don’t have an appetite and try to boost you’re immunity. I found (and still use in the winter) sambucol great for boosting immunity.

I had it as a teenager. I think I was off school for a couple of months, but it's hard to remember back that far. I don't remember feeling ill ie not being in pain. Just constantly tired and no appetite.

It took me well over a year to fully recover and even then I fell asleep in a GCSE exam (and the staff let me sleep!). It can take a very long time to get back to full strength.

I had it when I was in Year 10 and had almost a full term off school. I was so tired all of the time, even a short walk would need a nap afterwards! That was many, many years ago and I’ve got ME/CFS as a result but luckily it’s not too bad and mostly only really flares around times of high stress.

My DD was diagnosed a couple of months ago, she was very unwell at the time. Even though she’s much better now if she over does it her glands swell a bit, also by Wednesday afternoon she is exhausted and can barely keep her eyes open - thankfully she only has college M, Tues & W.

I'm one of the unlucky ones with CFS after Glandular Fever. I was very tired with Glandular Fever and had very bad tonsillitis once but mostly tiredness.
