Should his balls still be hurting?!

Dh had a vasectomy on Friday morning and he’s still in pain now. Is this normal? He’s been walking round like a cowboy bless him. His balls are so bruised too.

I’m sure I’d read other men were only in pain for a day or so. I know everyone is different but this seems a bit much

My fella was still John Wayne over a week later too and he had no complications

My DH has pain for about 6 weeks afterwards. He’s fine now though.

6 weeks! He’s such a wuss, not sure he could cope with that. He’s still walking around like a cowboy today, I feel so sorry for him.

Took over a year for me for the pain to go that I didn't notice it every day.
They are still more sensitive than they were before 2+ years later...
The whole only a bit sore for a day thing is a myth. I don't know anyone who's had that experience.

ExDH had a vasectomy, fine the first day, swollen and sore for the next few days. Perfectly fine within a week. Same with everyone else we know who had a vasectomy. It's a minor op ffs.

Well it’s reassuring to know he’s having a normal reaction, thank you.
It is a minor op but it’s a sensitive area.

Sounds like he has a low pain threshold.
He should take paracetamol for a few days

Dh was fine, never complained, even when I told him I was pregnant one week later!!
Snip was a tad too late Grin

My dh was sore for 10 days, he was worrying at the week mark that it was still so sore but then a few days later was pain free

My DH was sore the day it was done but not in pain. He was tender for a day or two as expected but not enough to interfere with walking or anything. He only had a bit of pain about a week later and developed a small lump, which he was warned might happen. Painkillers sorted it and the lump soon went. He's been fine since.
Id just keep an eye on it. It can very from man to man but if there's an increase in swelling and/or bruising get it checked out.

When DH and I were looking at this we did see that a small number of men are left with chronic pain.

I am sure it's just part of the healing for your DH but I just wanted you to be aware of that because often vasectomy is dismissed as a trivial procedure but for a few men it isn't.

I had that experience. I don't remember being particularly sore at all, but what pain there was didn't last more than a couple of days.
