Can anyone tell me of my rights to pain management in hospital?

Is there a set of guidelines on maternal pain management in hospital?
Is it normal to have pain relief refused?
Is it normal to use entonox only for labour or can it be used in other extreme circumstances?

Thanks

I've had entonox for stomach/back problems. However it's mainly given by paramedics.
I imagine they weigh up the risk in hospital with the pain relief and being pregnant. If you are really suffering please speak with the head nurse/midwife on your ward. No one, even pregnant women, should be left in acute agony.

@Iooselipssinkships
Thank you for your reply I've just spoken to my midwife and the Matron of the ward is going to call me because this is an ongoing issue with potential to go wrong again and I can't have it flaring up like this and being left for six hours panting and vomiting in the bed :(
