I was prescribed glasses about 10 years ago, never really got on with them and never really wore them. However have just gone back as beginning to notice im having problems reading, and twitchy tired eyes a lot of the time and my old glasses that i have just started wearing appear to be doing nothing. Optician has prescribed verifocals, have astigmatism in both eyes and various other things, i only thought I couldnt read fine print, but as i said have been noticing tired twitchy eyes a lot of time. Firstly, im worried about driving in them, im worried that i wont be able to see fine print/sewing etc. I have got the most expensive all singing all dancing lenses. Do people generally wear them all the time or just when the feel like they need them?

Yep, driving, sewing, everything.

All the time!
Took a bit of getting used to (very short sighted so wore contacts all day but then needed readers on top) But now I would not be without them!
If you didn't need them all the time I don't think they'd prescribe them!

I wear mine all the time. It took me ages to admit I needed varifocals, I juggled two pairs for ages, but once I got them I thought they were amazing. I had no problem getting used to them, I literally put them on & off I went with my perfect vision.

Well, the point of them is that you can wear them all the time - you have all the issues 'corrected' by one pair of glasses, so aren't switching from one pair to another.

However, when I tried them 4 or 5 years ago, I couldn't get on with them at all - there was no 'getting used to them' as I couldn't see through them. Whether I was made a duff pair by the opticians or whether I have odd eyes, I don't know. I love the idea of not having to swap between 2 pairs of glasses all the time.
