Recently received an epilepsy diagnosis for my son-8.
He has had little weird feelings and episodes for a year where he feels sick and has headaches/then had Tonic Clonic seizure for 25 mins and abnormal eeg so is on medication
My sister has kindly offered to buy us an epilepsy monitor but I’m not sure what to go for. Does anyone have any advice/ experience about the monitor either as a professional or parent? Also any advice to a newcomer to the world of epilepsy in terms of support / advice ?

Get in touch with the epilepsy society for more information and support. My DH has had epilepsy since before we met (due to brain damage) and his has never been totally controlled but a lot of people do manage to get control with medication. My understanding is that some children can develop it for no obvious reason and can grow out of it. Ive not heard of epilepsy monitors but not sure if you would need One of these unless your son has numerous seizures? Im sure the epilepsy helpline could give you advice.
