A safe has dropped on my head, yes really

Opened the wardrobe, crouched down to reach in to the back and the little safe box on the top shelf fell onto my head. I feel like Wiley coyote!

I screamed and fell over, but don't think I blacked out. DH has made me lie down and I have a slight headache and have taken paracetamol. Do I need to do anything else? He's just weighed it and it's 1st 2lbs.

Do I need to do anything else?

If you have an egg shaped bump you need to push it back in.

Being serious - if you have a headache it might be an idea to phone 111.

I would get yourself checked out ASAP in A&E - you may have concussion.

OMG! I just noticed it weighs 1 stone - I misread it as 1lb and thought it was very small. Definitely phone 111! Or even go to A&E you could have at the very least have concussion, if not a fractured skull.

I’d phone 111 and ask for advice!

Over a stone of metal is very hefty.

How far did it fall?

A&E.

If you don't remember if you blacked out then there's a good chance you did.

Do you feel sick at all?

I type as someone who fell off her horse and hit her head. A bleed on the brain is no fun! Even if it's not a bleed, that's a serious amount of weight to have land on your head!

Thanks everyone. Called 111 and now off to A&E.

It fell about a meter and a half off the top shelf of the wardrobe.

Glad you're going to get checked out. Hope all is okay.

Totally off point but is it an actual safe? Or just a cash box?

An actual safe should be bolted to the floor or wall, or someone could just come in and steal the whole safe!

OldAndWornOut · 11/04/2019 18:27

It should be named an unsafe.

Bless you! A wardrobe fell on me once and I was trapped inside it. I felt like I was in a slap stick comedy then too!

The door of our car boot fell on my head a while ago; both hydraulic arms failed so there was nothing to hold it up. It's a hatchback, so heavy. It wasn't fun.

OldAndWornOut that made me giggle, ta.

High shelf and a heavy safe.

That's a bad combination

If it makes you feel better i once stepped on the garden rake and it swung up and smacked me in the face Grin

It's a fire safe. So passports, birth certificates and that kind of stuff in it, but it's made of concrete surrounded in plastic. No actual valuables in it.

Will be moving it to a lower location asap.

Still waiting in A&E. Headache and neck ache and feel pretty wobbly and nauseous. Also running out of phone charge Shock

I hope you get through A&E quickly. I'm sorry but you are going to get the giggles when you describe the accident to the triage nurse. I hope all will be ok.
