Porridge seems to make me bloat - so what should I be eating for breakfast?

I know wheat's a bloaty food, thought porridge was supposed to be non-bloaty but I start the day with a flattish stomach then after breakfast I look pregnant.

Maybe I just eat too much of the stuff ....

What other oat breakfasts are there tutter?

Muesli's wheaty isn't it?

Might try one of the 'free from' mueslis, though they don't look that appetising

Think I will try the wheat & gluten free thing for a while

You could try Ready Brek. Its made from nothing but oats but doesn't seem to have same effect as porridge.

Its 60% rolled oats, then wholegrain oat flour, then calcium and vitamins. Perhaps that's why it seems more easily digested(because of the oat flour). I dunno! Definitely nothing bad in it though.

I went through a phase of bowl of porridge with handful of seeds and tiny bit of syrup - usually eaten at 7.30. By 9am would be starving again and yes, slightly bloated. I think this low GI keeps you full thing is a myth, doesn't do it for me. Now I've switched to wholemeal toast with thin spread of non-sweetened peanut butter and I don't usually think about food again till 12ish 9unheard of for me!) You do the maths!
