yes it's possible you need to do a test.

Does the pill just sometimes not work?

no method of contraception (other than abstinence!) is 100% effective

if you have had a gastric bug, this can hinder the absorption of the pill therefore making it less effective.

Or you could have forgotton totake it one day?

for some people the pill just does not work, if it hasn't worked once and there is no obvious reason like taking antibiotics, threw up, tummy bug etc then don't rely on it again in the future either (assuming you are pregnant)

I never ever forget to take it though, I have a reminder on my phone to take it after I wake up. My mum was always telling me to use the pill and condoms, but i just assumed the pill would be enough... clearly not.

FD it does happen - my friend was gobsmacked to learn she was 12 weeks pg depsite taking pill religiously.

How would you feel if it was positive?

well you'll only know if you do a test, and let us know as well!

This may not be what you want to hear, but I became pregnant while I was on the pill. I didn't forget any, and I didn't have a tummy bug, but even so I now have a 6 year old dd! No contraceptive is 100% effective so yes - you could be pregnant, even if you've been taking the pill properly.

There's only one way to find out - you need to do a test. If it's negative then see the GP to find out what else could be causing your symptoms - it could be something like an underactive thyroid. But you need to rule out pregnancy first.

do a test asap - then see how you feel. Take things bit by bit.

the symptoms may be due to stress if you are taking exams at this time?

I think were gona go to a sexual health clinic to see whether or not i am pregnant, because i've heard that some home pregnancy tests say your pregnant and others say your not, so if i got a negative test and in a few months time found out i was preganant, that would not be good!

I too fell pregnant on the pill. I took it religiously, never missed 1 and wasnt taking any other medication or had any sickness etc. As wigwambam says, no contraception is 100% effective. You need to get a pregnancy test asap.

a proper test from the chemist should be fine

If you don't want to pay for a test you could try your local walk-in centre - if you have one??

I've always thought, that if i got pregnant when it wasnt planned, i'd have to get an abortion, but im worried that if i am pregnant and all the hormones start kicking in, im gona wana keep it.

as they say - cross that bridge when you come to it - find out whats the situation and then go to the next stage.

You need to do a test. Tesco do some cheap, reliable ones. If you have a negative test today but still have the same symptoms in a week, test again. Or go to your GP etc.

The sooner you do a test, the sooner you can start weighing up your options. This is a very difficult situation to be in but there is a lot of support available, whatever you decide to do. I wish you well.

also hate to point out that if you have ad 2 or 3 very light periods you may be a fair few weeks pregnant already. On a positive note it could just be side affects of the pill and they are building up the longer you are taking it.

I do regularly go and get checked out at the local clinic, and before me and my boyfriend had sex we both got checked out and were both clear, so dont worry, I am trying my best to be safe.
