What does this sound like to you? Re numbness/ weird body stuff going on

I should say I am prob a bit of a health anxiety person but this is a real thing with real symptoms. I am trying to not talk to anyone in rl about it though I have voiced some concerns to share.
I have already been to the gp , to be honest I’m quite worried but I’m trying not to voice it irl.
Last year I noticed my heels were numb. No pain. Just numb. Went to gp, gp said oh that’s weird. Had a Doppler thing done on legs to check circulation. Came back fine. Didn’t Persue it.
Fast forward to May this year- heels remain numb, now I also have numb little toes. This has been joined by tingling/ numbness in fingertips, also running down the side of little fingers onto side of hand. And a faint tingling of lips is ow happpening too. It’s All the time. It doesn’t stop and start. I can feel. It’s not completely completely numb. More altered sensation, like when you’ve been anaesthetised. And are just starting to get the feeling back iyswim. No other real symptoms as such although I would say that I have some brain fog/confusion that comes and goes, a bit like the start of a migraine. Very occasionally I get this thing when I’m walking where my legs sort of ‘collapse’. I am often extremely fatigued by mid afternoon/evening.
Went to see a different doctor. He is sending me to see. Neurologist. No idea how long wait will be or what they will be looking for. I have blood being taken on monday. I think this maybe a long drawn out thing with no real outcome. I am really scared it’s gling to be a degenerative condition. Simply because it’s already getting worse. And the doctors are puzzled by it.
I am 42, a bit overweight, otherwise healthy. Any ideas???

Must be a worrying time for you.

Im afraid that this is how my fibromyalgia startedShock fatigue, brainfog, tingling in face and scalp, sunburnt feeling patches of skin, dizziness, numb areas

I was investigated for MS and do have some abnormalities on brain scan but was told to watch and wait.

I also have vitamin B12 deficiency which has been treated for years, is this something you have been tested for? It can cause these symptoms

I had spookily similar symptoms and had an MRI which eliminated anything awful . I was diagnosed with migraines and I now take a v low dose of amitriptyline which has eased virtually all of the symptoms. I hope this helps. I was extremely worried with the left side of my body feeling numb and tingly for months. I feel so much better and the tablet also helps me to sleep, I was only sleeping for 4 ish hours each night previously. I really hope you get a quick diagnosis and feel better x

Hiya, I have ms and it did start like that I’m sorry to say but I’m a few years from diagnosis and am doing great.
If it is that (hopefully not) there are amazing medications and all I ever hear when people find out is shock as they would never have known that I had it.
There are so many conditions which it could be so try not to worry but I just wanted to let you know that even if it was something like ms you can still have a great life - there are just extra challenges on the way!
Feel free to pm me if you want to know anything else.

It’s really good you’re doing something about it - that health anxiety does have a useful purpose sometimes. Blood tests will help too, as they could show signs of vitamin deficiencies for instance. Hang in there!

Thank you for all your replies

I have had migraines for years and years- always with aura- rarely with any pain

I’m not in any pain now either

Vit b12 deficiency? Now that’s interesting. No I haven’t had any tests yet. Is that something that might be tested for when they do my bloods I wonder?

@Justyou It’s ms that I’m worried it might be. For no other reason other than the symptoms seem to fit. What tests did they do to diagnose you?

i’ve had this and it was due to anaemia. it got alot worse when i started worrying about it, i think being hyperaware made me focus on every little feeling.

b12 deficiency could also be the causw

I came on to say B12 too. I get numb toes, numb bum and also weird orgasms (dull ache rather than pleasure!) when my B12 is low. I also get really tired and breathless.

Definitely worth a test. Hope you sort it soon.

I’m following this with interest as I have very similar symptoms. Also very quivery inside, but no visible tremors.

I have fibromyalgia and have the exact same sensations in parts of my feet. It's part and parcel of the condition. I think it's referred to as peripheral neuropathy. It feels worse when my feet are bare, so even in this weather I don't wear sandals, just trainers.

Oh. Interesting. Some of those symptoms match. Mostly not. But some do. Illl check with the nurse on Monday that it’s being checked in my blood test

Make sure they check B12, folate, vitamin D and thyroid. I have similar issues (crawling sensation on feet, burning in feet and legs, numb section across my back). It has improved a little now I’m taking vit D as my level was incredibly low.

I have ms which started with similar symptoms. I'm 10 years post diagnosis though and have only had one relapse since. I take tecfidera for it.

I have chronically low B12 and vit D, which is linked, and take supplements for those, both otc though the vit D could be prescribed (I buy the mouth spray one off Amazon instead).

I developed pernicious anaemia 34 years ago and symptoms were similar to yours. It has been successfully managed with three monthly B12 injections. Also ask your doctor to check your vitamin D levels as I have recently been diagnosed as chronically low, and symptoms are similar. My parathyroid hormone levels are elevated and again some symptoms overlap, so perhaps that can be checked too. Really hope you can be diagnosed quickly as it is scary feeling that you are becoming progressively worse .
