Stuck in sleeping rut after hospital

Hey everyone,

I was in hospital for 4 days and whilst in there was waking every few hours as had nurses coming in to check on me. New surroundings, uncomfortable bed etc....

Now I’m home I’ve got the same habit. Waking up every few hours going back off then waking up again. It’s like my body thinks it’s the new norm 😢 x

I've just spent two nights at home after an 11 day stretch and I'm in the same position as you.

Also find I'm wide awake at 5 am as I was in the hospital - hope that lasts as it'll be handy for work tomorrow!

I miss my regular cups of tea but I'm so glad to be home.

Last night was a bit better so I think it will just be an adjustment. By the end of my stay I barely woke while they did my obs though.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I slept better second night actually and didn’t hear them doing the obs anymore but just can’t get out that habit of waking every few hours. My body seems to have latched onto it.

I should also include I’m recovering at home for 3 weeks so not doing any physical activity to get tired. I’m also in a temporary menopause which causes insomnia so not great at the moment ha ha x
