Anyone know what these blisters are on my hands?

They look like chickenpox but I had that as a child plus they are only on my hands.

They started to come up yesterday but spreading fast now, like tiny little blisters with fluid inside? Any ideas?

Are they really itchy? Could be pompholyx eczema.

Oh wait, pompholyx wouldn't spread fast, so that's unlikely.

I wouldnt say itchy, more sore. I didnt even realise adults could catch hand, foot and mouth! I thought it was a childhood illness, DD had it about 4 years ago.

Hand, foot and mouth. DS3 had it, but none of the rest of us caught it, or if we did, no symptoms. His mouth was OK, but he had a few on his feet as well.

Yep, just found three on my left foot. None in mouth so far. Great Grin. Thanks everyone.

Have you been gardening today? Prickly heat due to the weather etc

HFM is possible, anywhere else - check NHS website for symptoms.

If major itchy then Chamomile lotion or Eurax/hydrocortisone etc

Hand foot and mouth.

I had it last year and was actually quite ill with it - a very high fever and all over pain for 2-3 days then about ten days of milder. It unpleasant flu like symptoms.

Ds was covered head to toe - also unwell.

It’s usually milder than that - we had an outbreak of one of the more severe strains I think

Thanks everyone for advice. I have been doing some gardening today. I dont feel ill either so fingers crossed its just a bit of prickly heat or something. Although its starting to spread to fingers now and has stopped at the wrists on both hands Sad

Look in your mouth - any tiny lesions? Any fever?

I caught hand foot and mouth from my dd when she was about 2 and at nursery. It's very commonly contracted from nursery age kids.

Ive got slight temp 38.4 but nothing in mouth. I work with kids (not nursery age though) so that explains that if it is HFM. I would have thought id of caught it when dd had it though. Ah well early night for me I will do a spot check in morning Grin

I caught hand foot & mouth about 2 weeks after starting work in a nursery. Blisters on hands then feet, mouth still felt fine. Day or two later took mouthful of hot tea & thought whole of the roof of my mouth was coming off. Sorest throat ever. Get stocked up on throat lozenges & paracetamol OP
