Swimming would probably be a better option. The movement will encourage the release of the affected nerves.

If you’re still bothered by it outside of pregnancy, yoga and Pilates works a treat.

Massage wouldn’t do any harm in addition but as the nerves are deep seated, I can’t see it working that well.

Hope it gets better. X

A trip to an osteopath might be more useful and probably wouldn't be more expensive

Yes I have deep tissue massage from a physiotherapist and it’s instant relief but not sure they would do it at 33wks, how about a tens machine it might take the edge off. Also leg swinging, sit on the edge of a table with your legs dangling and loosely swing your leg for a few minutes it can sometimes untrap the nerve.

Yes massage does help with sciatica. I've been seeing a massage therapist for a few months and she has worked wonders. Steer clear of osteopaths, they're all quacks.

Massage helps relieve muscle tension but doesn’t really do much for nerves. You could get a tennis ball and roll it against your bum cheek (from left to right in the middle) to ease off the piriformis muscle that can be affected by the sciatic nerve.

Swimming worked wonders for mine, that and physio.
