Ovulation spotting?

Two months ago I had a tiny and I mean minuscule pink mucas during the time I should be ovulating, after sex. I got myself in a complete panic and it set my health anxiety off. I went to the docs and she checked me internally and said it was most likely a burst blood vessel or due to ovulation. I've since had blood tests for any inflammation in my body due to a persistent back ache - these came back normal and it turns out I need physio🙄 and I was panicking needlessly again.

Last month I had no irregular bleeding but I'm terrified to have sex incase it happens again, eve though my doctor has reassured me that she's examined me and the blood tests are fine so even if it happens again o know this!!

At the weekend, ovulation window again, myself and my partner has some foreplay which he used his fingers (sorry tmi) and I've had the tiniest pink mucas again.

Why am I still worrying even though I've been checked 😔

Hi sausage I had this when I had periods. My friend did too. It is a 'thing'. It's called 'mizzleschmertz' or something. Not rare, just uncommon. It is great actually, when you want to get pregnant you know precisely when you're ovulating.

Used to also literally feel a fairly sharp pain which was the egg being released! Quite extraordinary!

I got preggers, first try, at 38, DH 55.

IMO it's a good thing!

Look it up on WIKI, I have prob spelt it wrong.

Thank you for your reply!!

I should have mentioned I've just turned 37 and wondered if it could be hormone changes with it not being until last few cycles

Yes, that's all it is... panic not.

My periods were always like this (apart from the odd month when I clearly didn't ovulate, which happens to everyone) but it did get 'worse in my 30's.

Yes, baby at 38 and menopause at 43 Hmm so quite early, although that is nothing to do with mizzle thingy, it's in my family genes!

Glad to have reassured you Flowers

I had this. I had a cervical erosion and when bumped it can bleed. I had it cauterised in the end. I think you can see it on examination though.

Yes freezing the OP has had a full examination (as did I) cervical erosion would definitely show up on an examination. In fact that's the first thing they would check I would imagine.

Yeah was examined and told my cervix was pink and healthy lol

Yes I agree but the gp told me I didn't have one so I insisted on a referral to a gynae who confirmed I did!

So you had the symptoms of mittleschmertz as OP and I had, exactly, in the middle of your cycle, had a flaky exam and it was cervical erosion?

Hmm

Sorry, but cervical erosion has more pronounced symptoms.
Thanks for your input to someone who has been fully checked out and has health anxiety Hmm

That is quite unhelpful. If I hadn't been fully checked out I would be in a complete panic by now

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for my comment to come across as unhelpful. I was simply pointing out that's what happened to ME. I'll ask mumsnet to remove my comment. Hope you get sorted op Smile

Don't worry, I just get things into my head and it blows up into a full anxiety attack: if it wasn't always at the exact time I should be ovulating I would be looking to what else it could be

Can I just point out that this is MY experience - I had a cervical erosion that only bled around ovulation because it was affected by the drop and rise of hormones. In fact I had quite a lot of bleeding mixed with cm. I have had it checked many many times and its not really anything to worry over, I was just trying to put your mind at ease. I'm sorry that it came across as unhelpful. Flowers

Turns out I do infact have a tiny cervical ectropian which is so small that's why it went unnoticed last check. It doesn't need treatment as my gp said colposcopy would think she was taking the mick it's that small
