Hi! I've been thinking of buying an electric toothbrush for me 8 year old daughter. What are your opinions on them? Are they worth the higher price and is there a brand that you would recommend? Also do you have any ideas on motivating your child to brush properly and long enough? Thank you so much for your answers!!

They are strongly recommended by dental research as doing a better job than manual toothbrushes. My kids have been using them since about the same age as your daughter. We have these and they've always worked great. The small brush head is good for kids too.

Sonicare Easyclean

That's the one my hygienist recommended for the whole family - she even made us watch a video on correct usage.

The cleanings become much easier and more pleasant once you switch to a good toothbrush like the Sonicare.

I use a sonicare but to be honest my teeth don't feel that clean after so in the mornings I use a manual.
It feels like a fairy is gently stroking them.

I use a Waterpik before brushing with the Sonicare and then rinse with a prescription antiseptic mouthwash. That routine leaves my teeth feeling really clean.

If the Spnicare bristles feel soft it’s time to replace the brush head.

I love my Sonicare - I bought my first one about 20 years ago. I’m on my third or fourth now and my teeth are in pretty good shape (for my age).
