My dear darling DD, as Saffy as you can get, sensible to a t, and studying at a 'top' uni has had the shock of her life and been diagnosed with the dreaded H. She's distraught and suffering awful symptoms. After googling the right places we've established this is the worst it will ever be. But arghhhhh what can I say to reassure her.
She feels frightened, ashamed and sore. I've told her not to be ashamed.
It's just a skin infection. Huge numbers of people carry it etc. But tbh I'm more worried about her
Mental health with this one.
Any insights would be so so welcome.

My 18 year old niece was recently diagnosed too. (Oral sex with cold sore probably). Just have to think of it as cold sores in the wrong place.

I think there are loads more young people out there with it but they're all members of this giant secret club and have no idea how big it is.
Is your niece finding it tough?
