So this is not the first time I've noticed (maybe three or four) but around mid cycle so day 10-12 I get some black tar like discharge. It doesn't smell and I don't get any pain so I tend to think it's fine. I have n IUD in case that makes any difference.

You need to see your GP.

Bleeding midcycle should always be investigated.

I used to get this. It was old blood. But see your GP to be sure.

No appointments until Tuesday, if they want a sample it will be gone by then :/

Explain this to them, perhaps they will accept a sample today?

Do you take the pill? I used to get this all the time on cerazette and went to the GP. Smear came back normal, swabs all normal, she couldn't see anything that would be causing it on my cervix. I stopped the pill shortly after and all midcycle bleeding immediately stopped.

I would check with the GP but usually black blood is just your womb clearing out old blood

I often bleed mid cycle sometimes more that others, sometimes bright red others old dark blood. Thought it was normal. But perhaps not!

Nope no pill! I exercise quite a bit so sometimes I worry it could be related.. but no pain! Have to call tomorrow morning to see if they can see me. Nor interested in sample

I don't think a sample will help, they'll want to have a look. I think usually it is just one of those things that happens now and again but they'll want to see if everything looks normal.
