Argh foot cramp!!

Foot cramp is driving me insane. I've been getting them for years, improved a bit when I started spending money on shoes that fit properly but still problematic. Anything that requires my toes to be pointing down will immediately trigger a bad cramp so yoga/Pilates is a nightmare! Anyone got any suggestions?

No suggestions but watching this hopefully.
I cant kneel or lie on my front without both feet going into painful spasm.

Spasm is the exact right word, if you looked at my foot while it's cramped you would think I had broken my toes, they go into such a weird position!

I have this, wakes me up at night and I have to get up and stand on my foot which might make it go away for a short time.

I was told to add salt to my diet by a HCP (I don't add salt as a rule) and I haven't had it since I did that (only about five days ago).

Oh that's interesting Barchester, I eat way too much salt and was worried someone would come on and tell me it was the salt wot done the damage!

It can be a sign of magnesium deficiency

I get quinine sulphate on prescription. I don't have to take it very often but it works quickly and well for me.

Drink more.

Not drinking enough water can give you cramp, especially in the lower extremities. However, don't just drink plain water, it's better to put something in it so that you're getting electrolytes. I do a lot of hard physical exercise so I use electrolyte tablets which dissolve in the water, but if you don't do exercise then something without much sugar like a healthier squash or cordial is worth a try.
