What the title says really, been throwing up every hour or less since first thing, can't keep water down - haven't tried anything else. And I'm in agony, whole body aches - is it worth taking painkillers? Any advice out there please to feel better, I can't sleep as I'm in too much pain..... Bloody kids and their germs!!

This is a long time to be throwing up. Has the frequency of vomiting not decreased over time? Do you know what caused it? Any fever? Any blood? Any diarrhoea? Any other symptoms? Any recent travel abroad?

Paracetamol for the aches and pains is fine, as long as you're not using it for a gut-ache. You do need to replace your lost fluids, perhaps take the kids' paracetamol liquid - 4 * 5ml of the 6+ strength - get some rest (perhaps use a HWB) and see how you feel in a couple of hours?

Thanks so much for your response, the baby was sick the other night so I think I've caught it off her. I'm at a pretty low ebb after a nasty cough and I suffer from arthritis so think it's just really hit me. I'm craving a HWB but it's packed away in the baby's room - bugger! Will try some paracetamol for the body aches and see how I go... Thanks again.

If you can't drink without throwing it up - sip it very very slowly. More likely to absorb some of it.
Have to try and hydrate otherwise you will feel horrendous tomorrow.

Boil the water and let it cool. Shouldn't vomit that up but tastes vile! Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Am glad you got some paracetamol down you (the alternative being a couple of tablets up your bum). Are you taking immunosuppressants for the arthritis? It would explain your suffering to a degree.

If there are no other symptoms try and sleep it off. Avoid any NSAIDs until you can keep food down.

Thanks everyone, feels like the calpols kicked in a bit now hurrah! And yep, I'm on quite a heafty dose of medication for the arthritis so that's not helping.
Sipping the water and trying to resist the urge to gulp it down I'm so thirsty! Will try the boiled water if it doesn't settle. Thanks again Smile
