Hi I'm off to see a surgeon on Thurs at a Bupa hospital with a view to having a breast reduction.
I am a 10-12 frame carrying a 34G BUST. Painful!
Has anyone had a reduction privatly? I would love some opinions good and bad.

Have you checked whether you might be entitled to NHS treatment? If you are in pain or have back problems you might be. I think you can ask to be put in touch with people who have had the surgery - with their permission of course.

I am having this done on 25th May. Am a 36hh. Just madly trying to lose the last stone in weight which the surgeon wants me to do before he will agree to go ahead.

How did you get on with the surgeon and where do you live ?

Hi

I have just had a breast reduction on the NHS on 7th February 2007

I was a 38G then now I am a 38D

Thought I would be a wee bit smaller but have to say I am delighted with the result.

No more back ache or neck pian either, have been and bought lovely bras not the horrid white, black parachutes that once were.

GO FOR IT GIRL, what a new woman you will be PROMISE!!!!

I'm thinking of having this done.. how much does it cost privately?

I don't think dh and I could afford it so I'm going to look into it on nhs. I'm not entirely sure how big they are (I live in denial!) but I'm guessing around a 34F. I'm 5'3 and just under 10st.

I'm just worried that NHS might not be as good quality and may pose more risks...

To have this done private it can cost up to £6500 i looked it to this but couldnt afford it hopefully one day i can get them done as im only 21 and a size 38G . i have really bad back ache. my GP referred me but i needed to loose 2 1/2 stone in six months but due to having my gall bladder removed i find it really hard to loose any weight at all so the only way for me is to pay private.

My GP dismissed me when I spoke to him about a reduction. I do t even know what size my breasts are as I just buy the biggest bra I can find and just squeeze in, mine are usually a j or k cup. I have awful back pain and confidence issues but I don’t know how to get some support. I have recently activated my Bupa membership and I hope to make some progress this way.

Hi Gembo321, sorry to bother you.
Just read your post and it's the first time I have found someone else with the same issue. I just buy the biggest I can get too. Sometimes that's a jj and sometimes a K. I just wondered how you were getting on with the breast reduction. Any luck with the nhs or privately??
Please would love to know.
Also any good bra shops/web pages as can never find the sizes.

Really appreciate any help or advice or just a chat. Thanks

How did this go as I know a young girl who nerfs this - 30GG which is causing her anguish in lots of ways - others unpleasantness, back pain and not being confident or comfortable in wearing lots of clothes and styles which are fashionable for a teenager.
