Smear Test Due

Hi there

I realised the other day that I hadn't had a smear test since my son was born. He's now 3.5 years old. I'm 31. I rang the doctors and the receptionist told me that I wasn't due one, as they are now every 5 years? Is this right? The NHS website says every 3 years for women under 50, so just wanted to see if anything had changed before I ring them back.

Thank you

Did you have one after your child was born? I know I had to had one regardless of if I was due one (I was 27 when I had baby)
You can get them done at GUM clinics, maybe call one of them and double check if you need one in your circumstances.

I'm also 31. I'm having one next week. It's definitely 3 years.

I had a letter for mine recently, definitely still every three years.

Thank you for your replies, I'll call them back. Yes I had one just after he was born, so thought that I must be due one. But had t had a letter, and the receptionist is saying that my reminder of when it's due isn't until 2019, so 5 years!
