Mole on ds17's back what do you think?

My 17 year old son asked me to look at a mole on his back this morning, he said it felt more raised than it had before. It measures 6mm x 5mm and seems to be raised in the middle. I've taken a picture and wondered if it looks normal or should I get it looked it. My Dad died from skin cancer a couple of years ago so I'm probably being overly cautious.

I think it's better to be safe than sorry, especially with your family history. Any moles with changes, get them looked at.

I'm sure it's nothing but it'll but your mind at rest. Flowers

I would get this looked at by the GP, any changes should be reported.

This is the ABCDEasy rule re moles:-
Asymmetry - the two halves of the area may differ in shape
Border - the edges of the area may be irregular or blurred, and sometimes show notches
Colour - this may be uneven. Different shades of black, brown and pink may be seen
Diameter - most melanomas are at least 6mm in diameter. Report any change in size, shape or diameter to your doctor

It looks normal but just get it checked out by your GP :)

Get it checked. It is easy to do and not worth the risk.

My daughter has a raised mole on her arm I took her to the gp who refered us to the hospital. They said there if a mole has hair growing out of it it's healthy. Have a look to see if there's little hairs growing in it. Might put your mind at ease while u wait for a gp appointment
