Just curious to know how it is for others. I think day 2 is heaviest for me.

gynae wants to stop my periods full stop by taking cerazette every day ,but im worried about the mood effects .(coil not really suitable for me)

Yeah day 2/3 heaviest for me. I can flood quite suddenly and lose a lot of large clots.
By day 4 I'm on my knees with exhaustion!

First day for me
Clots, flooding....the works

First day here too. I went to the doctors this week as I am sick of it. I too sleep (and sit on a folded bath towel), work from home, end up changing my clothes a few times, etc., etc.. Grim.

I am having a scan and blood tests, in the meantime I have been prescribed the thing beginning with N that people take to delay their periods. I can't take the two acids, they upset my stomach, tried a mirena which didn't make a difference.

I am ready to commit to a hysterectomy.

Today. Day 2/3

It has been a cracker - including the bit where I was walking up the road to hotel I am staying in, trying hard not to cough as it was causing me to flood and I had no idea where the nearest loo was except in fucking hotel

Badders123 · 12/05/2017 17:37

I have tried;
Depo - put on 2 stone
Pop - made me ill
Mirena - spotting for 6 months had it taken out
Cerazette - bled and made my very weepy
So I'm on hrt now as I'm perimenopausal
It's crap 😔

2nd day of proper bleeding is the worst. I say proper bleeding as I often spot for a few days first, and never know whether to count it as my period starting or not

Ah yes
Fake period
I getting too
Fools me every month too!

Tranexamic acid helped me after such heavy periods meant my iron levels plummeted to seriously low levels.

I had to take noristherone a couple of years ago due to very heavy bleeding...hasbt been that bad since

Badders, my GP is suggesting I take it every month ATM. Have it on repeat. Did you have any side effects?

I have been anaemic all my adult life, I take floradix religiously and have blood tests every six months. Used to have regular iron infusions but have not needed one for some time.

A gynaecologist took me off those acids about three years ago. I can't take ibrupofen because it affects my stomach, when I told him that he stopped it.

I have been looking forward to the arrival of the menopause but now it is showing it's had it seems worse than ever.

Have you got anything like fibroids Badders? I had a large one last time they looked.

Report
Badders123 · 13/05/2017 09:08

I only took it that one time
I had a scan and endometrial biopsy.. .all clear - which relieved me as there is a family history
I'm so fed up of it all
I've been dealing with this crao since I was 10
Ugh
I've only actually been anaemia once when I was pg and after having ds2 and it makes you feel ghastly so feel very sorry for you 💐

Badders

You should be examined by a gynae to see if there are fibroids and or endometriosis present.

Neither of those tests you mention would have shown endometriosis however if it is there. That can also cause heavy bleeding as well as pain to arise.

(I have also had more internal scans than I care to mention along with blood tests. None of this detected the endometriosis that was there; it was only seen via laparoscopic type surgery. I got clots, stringey brown blood and heaviness of bleed with endo as well as pain; this is why I mention it. It took me many years to get diagnosed and I would not want any other woman to go through this as a result).

Endometriosis can also go down the female line in terms of family relations.

The fact that you've had such problems since 10 is appalling as well.

What's the treatment for endo?

The Clue app goes from proper bleeding, not spotting.

This is day 3, I'm not allowed to bend and it's not fun GrinGrin

i see a gynaecologist for chronic pelvic pain and heavy bleeding and she said she could do a lap. but as i suffer from other conditions putting me under elective ga is last resort.
i was also told that even if i did have confirmed endo the first treatment is the same -stopping the periods either through the pill or coil. (if they dont work then she ll rethink about a lap -depending on my other health conditions)

What defines having a heavy period anyway? How quickly you get through a tampon? I've not long been off the pill but Day 2 today and I've had (tmi) one yellow tampax and two green tampax since 6am, neither saturated though??

No idea what counts as heavy but I had a 3 day period this month.

I went to loo 8 times as could feel the clots so these went straight into loo!
Went through green tampons in 3 hours x3
Went through orange one in 3 hours x2
And went through 20 super pads.

I'm glad it only lasted 3 days!
