Weird symptoms - please help diagnose me

I feel cold and achey all over as if coming down with a heavy cold - but no other cold symptoms.

My fingers are swollen. Not hugely, but noticeably. My fingers and wrists are particularly achey.

I have a rash on my lower legs, but nowhere else. It looks like shaving rash, but I had all my leg hairs lasered off ages ago so haven't shaved in weeks. The rash doesn't blanch with pressure.

Slight fever, well controlled with Ibuprofen.

The symptoms have lasted for 48 hours so far, largely unchanged.

Is this anything to worry about?

Any non blanching rash needs assessment

Go to A&E

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 17:28:54

Really? I'm a single parent and have no-one to look after the children.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 17:29:11

It doesn't feel like an emergency.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 17:29:26

And it's not getting worse.

chaz777 Fri 28-Apr-17 17:30:31

Have you called NHS 111? X

chaz777 Fri 28-Apr-17 17:31:16

Might be worth calling them first to see if you could speak to a GP over the phone. X

Properjob Fri 28-Apr-17 17:32:29

Allergic reaction? Rheumatoid arthritis? Go to the GP! hmm

skyzumarubble Fri 28-Apr-17 17:38:06

I can't get my head around these threads. Go to the GP, or pharmacist at least.

Random internet diagnoses - lupus?

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 17:44:16

I'm trying to avoid having to go out anywhere with three small children. Hence the thread.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 17:48:02

I guess what I was hoping for was people to say "no change in 48 hours, sounds minor, it can wait until next week but will probably have gone by then".

lougle Fri 28-Apr-17 17:53:52

You have a non-blanching rash, a fever, feel cold and achey/fluey all over. You need to see a doctor, today. It's impossible to tell what it is from your description.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 18:16:15

Yup. Not going to happen. The earliest I can get to a doctor is next Friday.

Sunshineandlaughter Fri 28-Apr-17 18:20:40

I think you need to see a dr tonight.

Cellulitis? Allergy?

Is the hand swelling on one side only?

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 18:20:46

Please would people advise me what to look out for in terms of deterioration?

Sunshineandlaughter Fri 28-Apr-17 18:21:23

Can you ask a neighbour to sit when your kids are asleep and go to ooh?

Sunshineandlaughter Fri 28-Apr-17 18:21:42

Can you measure your heart rate?

Sunshineandlaughter Fri 28-Apr-17 18:22:46

I think you'd know when you start to feel worse but I think you need to call 111 and explain your symptoms at least even if you don't go to appointment you can speak to a GP on the phone.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 18:22:54

I can't see a doctor tonight. I have no friends, no family, and XH who ignores my texts.

No itching so unlikely to be an allergy. No spreading so unlikely to be cellulitis.

The swelling is in all my digits evenly. It's only slight.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 18:24:05

Heart rate is 65.

donajimena Fri 28-Apr-17 18:24:29

Jesus you really need to see someone. I get its tough as a lone parent but you HAVE to find a way. Phoning out of hours or NHS direct will be a start. If you need to be seen a way will be found. I'm a lone parent too. I understand
But if its serious and you don't take advice the consequences could be far worse.

RupertsMum2 Fri 28-Apr-17 18:27:44

The ibuprofen may be masking other symptoms. You should speak to "out of hours" especially as a single parent with three small children.

ChaChaChaCh4nges Fri 28-Apr-17 18:27:55

What might it be that's so serious?

marciagetscreamed Fri 28-Apr-17 18:27:59

Sky my first thought was lupus too. I'm not a doctor but my sister has it.

Get seen by a medical professional soon OP.
