Okay so this time last year I was hospitalised with acute pancreatitis, completely my own fault, am overweight and generally eat like shit despite cooking healthily for OH and my son.
Past few days I've been having VILE pains on my right just under my right breast and my whole stomach is swollen. Pain radiates through my lower back too, and I also have mild cramps in my lower tummy area. My question is this, do I REALLY need to go to hospital for pancreatitis or will a visit to my GP do?? Can't be bothered with wasting hospital time if I don't need to.

Should add, the symptoms listed above were what got me hospitalised and diagnosed with pancreatitis the first time.

I'm a little better, went to hospital in the End, it's not pancreatitis it's a ruptured stomach ulcer and acute gastritis :( have lansoprazole and tramadol so all is good. Thanks for asking!

Oh, that sounds serious. I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Can I ask why you cook healthily for your family but don't eat the same yourself?

iam it's because I suffer from IBS which instead of being triggered by fatty, greasy foods, is triggered by foods that are high in fibre. Vegetables in particular. I am going to have to just from and bear it in future though as I am not going through this again. Major wake up call :(

www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/

For IBS, try this website. I'd recommend reading the "don't eat" list once and then focus only on the "do eat" list. It's actually very long and many lovely healthy meals can be made (even if your DH and Dkid/s find themselves eating this diet too!)
