Any Dentists/Drs? Toothache/Face ache

For the past 10 days I have had tooth/jaw/cheek/ear ache.
Some days it plays up all day other days I have no ache.
Its like a shooting pain from ear to front teeth, the other times shooting pain in my teeth, another time my mouth feels sore or gums feel sore. Sometimes all my teeth hurt other times just one or two. Cheek feels sore or ear aches or my jaw feels tired. All on my left side, never right side.
No toothache when chewing or biting down, no hot/cold sensitivity. No pain when dentists tapped or blew the air.
Seen 2 different dentists. Had PA xrays done. Both said teeth are fine and healthy. Both said I grind my teeth and its that causing the symptoms. The TMJ feels tender near my left ear. The second dentist told me to get amytripline from the GP which I have.
Yesterday I had no ache or pain.
Today its been sore and ache with odd shooting pain in jaw.

Does this sound like grinding effects? Could they both have missed a problem with a tooth?! Am I going crazy and imaging all of this!?

Could well be. I sleep with a mouth guard and if I don't I get jaw pain, tooth pain, headache, you name it! I clench and grind my teeth

Shooting pain indicates it is neurological in origin rather than grinding, but the mixed symptoms could possibly be a combination of both.

Have you tried the amitriptyline yet? Persist for at least 2 weeks.

Thanks for your replys.

highinthesky - when say neurological......(not turning to Dr Google as I'll end up on some page which says my head will turn green by tomorrow) what could it be? I am on the second night of the amytripline.
