Weirdly I have just been googling this as I have a similar pain today. I found a whole page on it here www.abdopain.com/lower-left-abdominal-pain.html . I hope it helps.

To be honest if you are feeling that rubbish I would see your GP or call 111 to get advice. Some of the things on the list need urgent attention, like ectopic pregnancy or ovarian cyst rupture, although the more common causes are more likely.

Left side usually is constipation. Can be very painful.

That's not correct Kazplus

OP, if you have abdo, pain that is getting worse you need medical assessment. Could be lots of things, some of which are serious.

Call 111.

What have you taken for the pain? Have you tried a hot water bottle? Does changing position make it better or worse? If you've taken painkillers and its still getting worse then you do need to call 111.

Ovulation pain? I'm experiencing it right now, severe stabbing where my ovary is. I get it every month. Constipation, diverticulitis, many things. Ring 111 for advice.

If it is constipation that unfortunately cocodamol might make it worse in the long run because it blocks you up, do you have any ibuprofen you can try? Does it stay at the same pain level or ebb and flow?

But the painkilling effect from cocodamol should have helped. I would really call 111 now.

Try a hot water bottle and lie down on your other side and see if that helps.

Do you have a mirena coil?
