Bed wetting Success So Happy :D

I thought id take time to share our storey, after trying everything from lifting, pull ups, desmopressin tablets from 1 then doubling the dose, failing, having a break still in dry nights, no concentrate drinks of any kind for 6 months, alarms that go in the pants with cables, my 10.9 year old now getting really anxious that she doesn't want to do sleepovers or school PGL trips in case someone finds out she still isn't dry at night, We went to the Doctors who agreed we had tried everything, he referred her to the hospital for us to receive a letter to say our local authority no longer provide a service for this, So back to doing research, i came across a very expensive alarm, raising my eyebrows but desperate i spent every spare penny i had on buying one with 3 pairs of very expensive pants @ £23 a pair. 1st night all 3 pairs wet and me washing 2 pairs 1.30am, again night 2, so i took the plunge to invest in another 2 pairs so to set us up for success rather than this every night.. Anyway the short is, We have now had 2 dry nights for the first time in her life, she is so so proud and so happy, looking forward, i just wanted to share with anyone in the situation. I have heard this is a great alarm. I have a 7 year old ds who is a bw. We are just waiting for an appointment with the incontinence clinic and I'm hoping we will get it sorted. I've tried a cheaper alarm and it didn't solve our problem.

Bedwetting is so distributive on family life. I feel so sorry for my ds when his 3 year old brother (who has never had a night accident since toilet training at 2) wants to know why he "wears nappies". We spent over a year and half without pj pants hoping the alarm and wetness would click something but to no avail. Even now he still wets through some nights.

I/ we have previously been to the enuretic clinic with older children, they used the alarm as mentioned above that goes in the pants but it failed on all occasions for us, then treid tablets with some sucess ( other children) this one is a cable-less one with a plug that admittedly sounds like a fire alarm ( it does have other melodies) and the whole family wakes, the child literally has a drop and the alarm goes off but after a few weeks its so so worth it, i was such a sceptic when i read about the success in 5 weeks, but oh boy im so so thrilled with it i'd certainly give it ago, you can always sell it and get your money back on selling sites from what i have seen

We have tried cheaper alarms as stated above and looking at the link you kindly provided, The like for like alarm is no cheaper and now on 5 nights in a row of being dry we ARE more than happy with our choice thank you .

Discoverandgo would you mind posting an update. I'm contemplating buying this. How has your ds gotten on since your op

i would honestly recommend this alarm, but also recommend at least 3 paires of pants so to set yourselves up to succeed. Were still using it, having had 5 nights in a row completely dry, never before, the alarm does wake them up at the tiniest amount of urine, we have also for the 1st time ever had her wake on her own without the alarm to go to the toilet, we shall continue to use it for the foreseeable future. my only regret is not buying it earlier as dry nights are quiet expensive. It is pretty good! Sometimes you can pick it up second hand on ebay for a substantial discount.

I've just ordered this for dd (9). Fingers crossed it does the trick then dd(6) can have a turn! We were on the waiting list for the enuresis clinic for 8 months then were told the clinic was going to be cut because of funding changes, so we haven't had any help other than GP directing us to the ERIC website.

I hope you get the results we've had, please make sure you buy plenty of pants though, ( you will be able to sell them on once your finished), We've had 4 nights now Dry, no alarm going off at all, and shes waking up in the morning to go to the toilet. We shall however continue to use it until she feels happy enough to go without, let us know how it goes edengarden123 & GordonJacobs Fingers crossed.
