Threadworms question

I treated the family for suspected threadworms 4 weeks ago tomorrow. It was my DS that was complaining of an itchy bottom so I did all the recommended stripping of beds, hot washing, etc dusting surfaces and we all took the medication.

My question is that, at the time I took all the soft toys off his bed and vacuumed them rather than washing them but then put them in a bin bag to keep away for a few weeks to ensure any eggs that I'd missed would have definitely died. DS has just going the bag and got all the soft toys out over his bedroom floor. Is nearly 4 weeks long enough to not worry about the fact that he may have recontaminated his bedroom?

Did you repeat the treatment after 2 weeks? I didn't treat soft toys when we had threadworms..oh dear

No we didn't repeat the treatment just made sure that we followed all the hygiene routines to eradicate. I'm hoping all that effort hasn't been undone by a pile of soft toys though (I didn't quarantine all his soft toys by the way it's just the ones that were on his bed)

I think it's beneficial to re- treat everyone after 2 weeks.
