Back pain

Hi all,
I have lower back pain, from lifting my 18 month old, I don't really feel it until I'm not with him, but hurts more when I'm sitting and laying, not to bad when walking.

I don't know if I should apply heat or ice to it? Should it be be looked at? but who would I see? A physiotherapist? Chiropractor? Has anyone ever heard of these practitioners being able to visit you at home in the evening (otherwise I have no idea when I can fit it in)
Any advice, experience and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
