Muscle tightness and pain.

I'm at my wits end, I had a total knee replace in the summer (at 43) and since then I've had extreme muscle tightness and aching all over my body, I've had physio and blood tests but they only showed low vit D. I was put on prescription strength capsules but this did little if anything to relieve the pain.

I also have pain in my elbow joints and a patch of skin on the outside of both wrists that is sore to touch although there is absolutely nothing there, it is super sensitive.

I'm also so, so tired, ridiculously so, can easily fall asleep if sitting down for a few minutes at any time of day.

I've been to the GP and they've taken more bloods, I'm waiting for results at the moment but I'm so sick of being in pain.

So I suppose I'm just venting a bit and wondering if anyone else has the same symptoms

Yes I have very similar symptoms after 2 lots of surgery last year. Muscle tightness, achy ness and tiredness are the exact combination of things I seem to have!

The one thing I have found really helpful is pilates- 1 to 1 at first with a really good instructor experienced in injury rehab. She helped me realise quite a lot of the pain was actually 'self inflicted' tension, where I was holding my shoulder warily, sort of flinching and thinking it still hurt as much as it had immediately after my injury and the operation, and making it worse. I also had/ have all sorts of other muscle twinges in other parts of my body from getting into bad movement habits before I had all my mobility back.

Regular massages have also helped a lot.

But I don't seem to be able to shake off the exhaustion! Am on the point of going to my GP for blood tests too. I still feel in a bit of a brain fog, and as if everything is taking a bit more concentration than before. I don't know if a bit of that is linked to being anxious and careful not to injure myself again? Not quite trusting some muscles/ joints to do the right thing?? Or if there is an anaemia/ thyroid/ vitamin deficiency reason.

I read quite a helpful article about the pain and perception of pain thing, I'll see if I can find it again.
