It says it won't go away :'(

I think mine is past the stage where the mark will fade. It started of pink and has now done browner with some little scabs even. Oh god. I feel so stupid.

It has been over a month of sitting by the radiator burning my skin from the prolonged exposure to the heat.

Now I have this mark on my leg. It looks so bad. And it burns too.

Hopefully they will give me the tretinoin cream on the NHS.

Has anyone had this and found it cured?

Are there any home remedies I can do as well as the cream?

I am so depressed and mad at myself for not realising sooner and removing the cause. Please help :(

Have you had it diagnosed by a doctor? (And I don't mean dr google!)

yes I saw my doctor today and they confirmed it. But I mean it's pretty obvious what it is because of the appearance and the obvious cause. Google the pictures if you want to see what it looks like.

I just want to know if anyone else has had it. And if it healed. Because the prognosis does not look good :(

Ah ok apologies op. It was the way you said you hope you would be given the cream made me think you hadn't had it looked at yet.

I have no experience but bumping for you Flowers

I have it really badly on my inner thighs as that's where I clamp my hot water bottle. I used to have it on my stomach but nowhere nearly as bad and that faded by itself.

that's okay thanks Jenny. my doctor has to contact the dermatologist for the go ahead to give me the cream as they are worried they will prescribe it wrong. but even with the cream it may not help :(

thanks for your reply JBH how long have you had it on your thighs and did you stop using the hot water bottle there? that's good it faded on your stomach. how bad was it? what did it look like and how long was it exposed to the heat source for? mine started pink but then turned darker, now it's brown and has little scabs now so i don't think it's mild anymore which is why i'm worried. thanks.

I've probably had it now for about 6 or 7 years but I still use my hot water bottle every day so it's not getting a chance to heal. When I had it on my stomach, I don't think it ever went beyond the redness stage - I used to alternate the hot water bottle between my thighs and stomach, say maybe 15 mins each, so the contact wasn't as prolonged but I probably did that for at least a year, if not more. It has completely gone now and you can't see any marks at all.
