Hair removal-please move to appropriate place if incorrect

Hi. Just used Veet hair removal for the first time. It worked well I suppose under my arms but it has left a slight rough feeling like red growth after a shave.

My legs however were more stubborn. Especially round the back of my ankle. I followed the instructions and didn't leave it on for more than ten mins. Is there something I'm not doing right??

I leave it just over the maximum time and remove it using a flannel on circular motions as I shower.
