Hi there, some advice please.
DD 3.11 has had chicken pox for a week now, all the spots are out and according to the Doc she is no longer contagious. But we really want to go out to lunch, where they have a kids play area etc and I'm just a bit worried about the glares and disapproval we may receive from other parents!
TBH she looks very spotty but is not unwell and isnt itchy anymore. We have stayed in all week and we are both climbing the walls.
Today is the only day we can do something as a family as DH is going away for a month starting this week plus its by birthday Tuesday so it would be really nice just to get out for a bit!!
What would YOU think if you were the other parents there?????

I would go out.
If shes not contagious then its no problem. Don't worry about what anyone there might think you know she is ok.

a tricky one - as both if mine had had it and I know about the spots etc then I probably wouldn't batter an eyelid.

Other parenst who have not had it may be just a tad uncomfortable about it.

If she is scabby then during rough & tumble in the kids zone then scabs may come off , may get infected etc etc and may not be too pleasant for others.

Yes she is scabby but the spots are quite dry now but problem is she has quite a few on her face so people are going to look !

Oh let them look , when I've seen children out with spots like that , I make conversation with the Mum, ( having been through it with two at the same time ! ) .

Go out have a good lunch and what the hell what other people think , its their problem .

If they dont like it they can leave !
