It's grown over a few month but is not itchy, not flaking or bothering me in any way do I get it checked out or would I be wasting GP's time with it?

Nell51 Sat 07-Jan-17 13:12:20

Is it on your foot? I would usually google to find out things and then decide either to see pharmacist or doctor.

pishedoff Sat 07-Jan-17 13:25:10

It looks like a mole? I'd get that checked out

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 07-Jan-17 13:36:07

It's a mole (I think) it used to be a small freckle and yes it's on the heel of my foot.

I did google and was not really conclusive either way.

hairymuffet Sat 07-Jan-17 19:02:38

Definitely get it checked!

Ibloodyhatethomasthetankengine Sat 07-Jan-17 19:45:00

Have been Drs, urgent referral, seeing someone else tomrrow.

hairymuffet Fri 20-Jan-17 17:31:39

That's funny, I checked your thread earlier today.
That's good that you're seeing someone quickly.

Blossomdeary Fri 20-Jan-17 17:36:09

It has an irregular border - that is a red flag. Glad you are seeing someone so quickly - it is the right thing to do.

pishedoff Fri 20-Jan-17 17:47:45

Glad you have seen someone OP and they aren't delaying with you getting checked further

Hope it's just a false alarm flowers

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 21-Jan-17 00:28:40

I wish people didn't worry about wasting a GP's time for things like this.

This is what the GPs are for. All changing moles should be checked, especially ones with red flags of melanoma.

I hope your appointment goes well OP thanks

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 21-Jan-17 15:09:22

Borderline and early stages were mentioned, brain switched off after he said it needs removing sooner rather than later.

Surgery book in for two weeks time.

No driving or walking for 2-4 weeks.

I really thought he was going to say it looks fine but will remove anyway.

It's 7mm long and 5mm wide with a nodule in the middle and the different colours and the shape of it worried him a lot.

he said he's still going to hold on to hope that all test come back fine once it's been removed.

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 21-Jan-17 15:13:58

2.5 weeks surgery booked for, give me enough time to sort child care and I can wear shoes or anything with a back on it so slippers are ruled out too.

What can I buy to wear?

Twopeapods Sat 21-Jan-17 15:44:53

Oh no Lights. I really hope the results come back clear.
You can buy slippers with backs on? I've got a pair from M&S and they are really comfy. If your foot is sore after maybe get a memory foam insole for anything you wear so it's cushioned. Did you manage to get help with childcare? Everything crossed for you flowers

picklemepopcorn Sat 21-Jan-17 15:48:02

Crocs and mules. I've some great red leather clog style shoes that I wear all through the winter with black socks.

Good luck, glad you got checked and they are sorting you out.

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 21-Jan-17 15:53:09

DH is going to sort out taking sometime off and getting others to cover everything he does.

I really wish it was this Wed so it could be over and done with quicker but will need time to sort work cover.

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 21-Jan-17 15:54:00

I'm going to buy loads of pairs of thick fluffy socks grin

picklemepopcorn Sat 21-Jan-17 17:10:06

Good plan! Revel in having a bit of time off, build up your energy reserves in case you need any further treatment. Make a fluffy sock collection...

hairymuffet Sun 22-Jan-17 00:25:42

Ah, good luck op. All will be well.

bluetongue Sun 22-Jan-17 07:29:49

Not good OP.

You did the right thing getting it looked at. As stressful as this all is the sooner that lesion comes off the better.
