As it says. Been checking breasts for three hours. Lies in bed. In all different positions.

I'm driving myself mad. I can't feel any unusual lumps.

I just feel like ten percent of the time one breast feels more dense then the other one. I could be imagining it. My boons are vvvv small and I can feel everything. I'm digging in really hard.

In the last four days I must have checked myself 200 times and now my breasts feel numb.

I'm starting to punch myself in my boons because I'm so scared and fustrated. I can't go to the GP as she will definitely refer me to the breast clinic and then I have all over Christmas waiting. Plus in 90 percent of possotions they feel EXACTLY THE SAME.

It's just underneath one feels it feels bit thicker... Sometimes. It could be in my head. I'm 26 and got the smallest breasts in the world.

I have been checking them for three hour and now my hands and wrists are aching and neck is sore.

Help me

I have severe health anxiety and I'm having CBT...the next session apparently is to work in the 'checking'

If you are this worried go to the gp and they'll refer you. But it sounds like you can't actually feel a lump per se and I often have areas that are thicker/more dense I think it's fairly normal. The chance is it's nothing at all but get it checked out for peace of mind.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:04:29

I have just checked again and they feel ok to me. The same. But I could check again and the left could feel a little thicker. I change my mind every time for what I felt and what it is I'm looking for. I can't even remember what I first found four days ago

zippyswife Tue 20-Dec-16 21:04:51

Ps. I also have severe health anxiety. So I feel your pain. Try to think logically. I'm sure there is nothing at all wrong but get to your gp.

I have thickened breast tissue and tiny boobs as well. Go get help for your anxiety. Gp can feel your boobs and reassure you-mine is happy to check mine every six months for me. I've just accepted I need medical help for my anxiety and am taking duloxetine for anxiety.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:07:24

I have been on the I ternet and it says to look for thickerning in the breast. I have had the runs and feel sick and shaky. I can't eat.

Last month I was obsessed I had cervical cancer and checked my underwear every 5 mins. Now I'm hiding in toilets in the supermarket checking my breasts. I even out my hand down my top in public to check yesterday and my husband pointed it out to me

Hi OP, I read your first post and thought this poster has health anxiety, I hope she has looked into CBT. Then I read your second post!

I'm not sure how much help I can be, I just wanted to reinforce (as you probably know in one part of your mind, even if the other half is panicking) that this is your health anxiety talking.

Can you do anything to distract yourself, ideally something that limits access to your boobs?! Go for a brisk walk, come back, have some warm milk and go straight to bed?

I hope you see some progress soon with the CBT.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Tue 20-Dec-16 21:09:58

Stop it.

Go and make a cup of tea and watch some mindless telly.

Do not check them again until after the New Year. IF you are concerned then you can be referred by your doctor.

You need to check your breast at the same time each month so you can compare any changes. Checking for 3 hours is ridiculous and you know it is.

Stop it now and go and focus on something else flowersbrew

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:10:33

My poor husband has absolutely had it with me. It's one thing after another. My mind is so strong. I'm the poster who was convinced a few months ths ago I had cervical cancer...Which i haven't as I have had all the tests, twice.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Tue 20-Dec-16 21:10:58

Download a relaxation app on your phone and if you feel the urge to check then play the app and focus on your breathing.

memyselfandaye Tue 20-Dec-16 21:11:00

Stop touching them and for gods sake stop punching them.

Go to the doctor, you have to, they will check and if there's nothing there, and it does'nt sound like there is, you won't have to go for further tests.

You're hurting yourself, and you will cause tissue damage. Stop.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:11:46

I want to stop. But I read so much on the internet about thickened breasts on one side. They been burning today because I have messed so much.

Haggisfish Tue 20-Dec-16 21:13:19

Honestly go and get help. My gp was lovely today.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:14:49

I was told last time I was at the breast clinic NOT TO DIG IN as I will find all sorts. Well I have dug in for some stupid reason and found the thing that I found on Friday which now I can't even remember what I found. Then I researched 'What to look out for in breast changes' and then I have become aware of a thickening sometimes. As tho I'm more dense in one side

Muppetslikecoco Tue 20-Dec-16 21:15:51

I'm really sorry you're going through this OP flowers

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:17:55

Muppets...I'm gutted I'm going through this. It's Christmas. I have two children under 6. It's my DS birthday Christmas Eve. We have all lovely things planned. I can't even look at food ATM. Both times in the past I have been referred to the breast clinic I starved myself with worry for two weeks.i can't do that again.

Wolfiefan Tue 20-Dec-16 21:18:13

This is not about your breasts.
This is about your health anxiety
Please call your GP or whoever is providing your CBT. You need help with your health anxiety. Urgently.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:20:18

I phoned CBT today to see if she could fit me in early, but she couldnt see me while Thursday.

I started a new pill about five months ago, could this have caused something to happen?

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:22:11

I feel like getting a knives and slicing them open. I'm so fustrated.

When I check the correct way (The way the breast nurse showed me how to check...Three fingers, the pad of my fingers and rotate with firm pressure) They feel normal and the same. When I dig in one feels a bit different

Haggisfish Tue 20-Dec-16 21:22:56

What sort of pills did you start?

PurpleDaisies Tue 20-Dec-16 21:23:42

You need to find some way to think about something else. This isn't about your breasts-it's your anxiety.

Lucked Tue 20-Dec-16 21:23:45

Please be gentle with your breasts, if you bruise them they might get lumpy.

Asymmetry is very very common. Please see you GP about you health anxiety and your concerns about your breasts.

Choccywokky Tue 20-Dec-16 21:24:48

Contraceptive pills...Levest. I thought I had cervical cancer because I was irregular bleeding, but after three months on the pill it stopped so I believe them now it was a hormone imbalance
