Scar Healing

A couple of months ago I had a lump removed from my neck (nothing sinister) it was quite large - wound was about 2 inches long with a lot of stitches.

All was fine and it seemed to heal well and quickly - everyone says what a nice job the surgeon made of it. But in the last week or so it has started to feel sore at the top of the scar - it's not red or angry looking - but there is a sharp pulling pain at the top every so often.

I wondered if this was normal - it is on a part of my neck where the skin is naturally thin and tight. is there anything I can rub on it to ease the skin? I feel a bit of a fraud going to the docs - as it clearly isn't infected or anything like that just a bit sore.

I am seeing the plastic surgeon in early Feb so she can check on progress and go over the path results with me - should I just leave it until then ?

Have you been massaging it - that help with the healing and helps to break up any lumps that might be forming. 2 months isn't really that long healing wise. I'd say if certain no sign of infection then ok to leave. Any significant changes though get seen.
