Psoriasis on scalp - what can I do?

My B12 levels are really low again and I've developed psoriasis on my scalp :( it's really sore and itchy and last night I scratched so much I made my head bleed.

I've got thick hair and it's really hot here so lots of sweaty scalp issues :(

Is there anything I can do as a home remedy to calm it down until I can get into the GP for more blood tests and another B12 injection?

I had this last night, I didn't realize it was related to B12. I just whacked on loads of Vaseline, it's not a cure I know but it temporarily stopped the inch. My friend many many years ago used coal tar soap on the damaged skin.

I didnt know b12 had an effect. I'm currently using steroid solutions on mine.

Coconut oil slathered on then a shower cap for as long as you can bear it. (overnight?) Wash it out using shampoo on your dry hair before adding water.

Go and buy some T Gel from Tesco.

I get patches of psoriasis on my scalp. The only shampoos that work for me are Polytar and Capasal, both of which I buy on eBay,

As even the Capasal shampoo with coconut oil can be harsh on the hair, I use Kerastase Elixir Ultime conditioner to 'put the goodness back in' which is how I think of it. Smile

I second capasal. But I've never managed to get rid of it. Sad

Lush sell a super balm and a soak and float shampoo which i swear by after trying everything.

If mine flares up, I massage some warm olive oil into my scalp - wrap it up with a towel and leave it for a few hours

shampoo-wise I've tried them all, t-gel was the worst for me it dried out my hair and made me feel itchy all the time - but I liked one called Nizoral

Shampoos that contain tea tree tend to keep the itchiness to a minimum

B12? Is this something I should know about? I suffer from psoriasis and my GP and dermatologist never mentioned it

I have dermatitis on my scalp and the best thing I've found is Selsun shampoo from the chemist. T gel shampoo worked well on the scalp but frazzled/stripped my hair.

Rosemary might work. Lots of my friends I've met through having psoriasis say rosemary shampoos and rinses are very calming.

Aloe vera is the best in treating psoriasis on scalp.

I what form do you apply the aloe vera, ladypirate? I'm collecting a list of natural remedies as I'm trying to swear off steroid lotions and potions and I'm not a massive fan of the smell of tar products because of work meetings etc.

Polytar is the only one that works for me when I flare up! A few days washing with it and it calms right down

nicknamehelp What are the exact names of those Lush products? Would love to take a look!

I find a concoction of Vit B12, Magnesium,
Calcium, Vit D3 and odourless garlic help stop the incessant itching. Currently having been using online Katharine Botanicals Natural Psoriasis shampoo and conditioner but as with every treatment, it often starts to become 'immune' to it (am passed the steroid ones being useful now, for example)
